Power
Prince: What is power – Sweet poison. It’s jimson weed aroma, You will breathe in, once, And there is no way back.
What is power? What is power? What is power? Is it honor or misfortune? Garden of Eden or dark woods, Sweet poison or heavy cross, Absolute hell or a gift of heavens!
All treasures of the earth, All declarations of love, Ardor of embraces of passionate wives, Aroma of overseas wines – You will give all for one moment Of accession to the throne, Where law is in your hands. Feast of power is boundless, Poison of power – you are the sweetest of all!
Power is to mete out supreme court. To call white black. To condemn morality like a lechery, To change saints into Sins, To change all places. And to punish innocent people, To gift or to punish, Or to grant forgiveness!
Power is to be on “you” with eternity, To believe in your high gift. And to the accompaniment of the exclamations of a crowd, Drink divine nectar Of undeserved love To call worthless people. To send people on a death Only power is able to do it!
Power is a fakir, It makes thousands miracles with us. Power will change you. Power and a scoundrel has become honest. Power and a booby has become a wise man. Power and demon has come into you. You will never be substantial with it. It will eat you like a boa.
Let it be, it brings trouble To your family and friends, And you will be tormented in hell For this for ages. And in fever’s delirium You will not give away Your regal crown voluntarily. There is no power, and you are dead. What is power?
